i've read on other message boards that people got different actors (live on the phone), the director, soem writers, assistant director, etc. they have all been awesomely nice, they all said. and one person mentioned donald faison was sending him a prize. apparently the phone just sits around the set and whomever wants to can answer. :)
Told my friend to call without telling him what it was. He called and got "Scott" the assistant director. They had a 5 minute conversation about school and future episodes. I think they turned the phone off after talking to him or a little bit after. Goes directly to voice mail without ringing.
So, yes, people will actually answer. Try it at random times of the day.
Hey, I just noticed that Donald's VM messages changes too. I just called again and this time he said something about making sure to vote for the People's Choice Awards. This is too fun!
I just called and it talked about voting for Scrubs for a PAC award and voting for Zach for his role in Garden State. It also talked about Scrubs moving time slots to 9.
I left a message screaming that "Turk is the greatest."
wow now i dont feel so bad. i called and left a unabomber rant on how great the show is and how you guys should move to another network if nbc doesnt respect you. oh- i also said how much father of the pride sucks and how i know we should "hail to the peacock"b/c we need to be nice.
dood i called the number and he actually effing answered... i didnt say anything and he was all" he this is turk, hello? dont be shy, talk to me, where are you calling from?" and he hung up...?? i think im gonna call it again.. is this fake? my sister got his machine while he was talking to me at the same time... are they possibly two different msgs or was it really him???
OMG. so i called the number again and it was the guy from editorial, so this is a for real number and they get like 6,000 calls today and shit! I DID get a hold of TURK! it was really him! the guy from editorial said there was a few cast members hanging around and it was him who answered the phone in character, i didnt say anything though cuz i thought it was a fake thing ya know? but now i feel bad for leaving him hanging but what was i supposed to do? i was confused and shit! ahhh. too funny, they dont know how long they're gonna go with this cell thing FYI. they got calls from around the world too. the guy was nice and we talked for a while about random stuff. he said the cast answers the phone during the day in character! too funny! what a unique way of contecting with the fans!
I called a few times today, first I got one of the writers, then Judy Reyes saying "you've called Scrubs, this is Judy Reyes" but I just hung up.. and then I just now called and Judy answered saying "Turk's cell phone, Carla speaking!" but I also hung up, I didnt know what to say! I mostly wanna get ahold of Donald or Zach... well actually it doesnt matter too much I guess... ahh it's too funny when they answer in character cuz it makes you think their characters are real. its just sooo weird!
yeah keep trying, lastnight i called for the first time expecting to hear the voicemail but i actually got turk, live. and then i got a guy from editorial and then one of the writers then a couple times i got "carla"...keep trying! i am!
i talk to "elliot" for about 8 min or so, super nice and goofy, laughs a lot. she has a friend out here in seattle and visits here. really nice person. i am so happy they are doing this with their fans. shes not sure how long this will go on though.
I called and someone picked up the phone and identified himself as Murray. I was a little confused, cuz I'm positive there's not a Murray on the show, and the only thing I could think of was Donald Faison calling himself Murray as sort of an homage to Clueless, but then again, that wasn't his character. Anyway, I told whoever it was that they should fly me out for an internship, to which they responded that I was welcome to one, but only if I rode my bike from Chicago to LA.
Then, come to find out Matthew Perry is directing the episode filming this week and concurrently playing some character named, you guessed it, Murray. of course, I'm not for sure, but ha, whatever.
that would be soo coool. i talked to bill lawurence the creator and sarah. and some writers.
i asked one of the writers for an p.a.(production asst) job and they said they had none. the ones they have now are those that have been with the show for a while.
i felt so bad asking because i kept pressing the writer for a fax number he said i could send my resume to for such a position and he kinda ended the convo soon after. i think it was b/c there wasnt much else to talk about, or at least i hope.
hmm. i would love to do an internship. i have some family in california near the set, so it might just work out if said internship becomes available. if it does-please let me know. thanks.

i called yesterday again, got the lawyer and then later i got Bill the creator of the show, he said they bought the phone service for a month so that may be how long they keep doing this, at first it was just a number for fans to call and listen to the voicemail and leave msgs but then Zach decided to answer the phone and thats how it all began, LOL. Bill said the phone was distracting ever since they started this and everyone is having fun with it and some of the writers I guess are behind in work,, I could only imagine!

ive talked to sarah,dr kelso,bill-the creator,and some of the writers-mark and another guy.
and neil(the janitor) said hi to me when i was talking to sarah.
everyone liked my idea of installing a webcam on the second story haunted morgue.
